Kareem J. Maxwell, author of America's Youth: Take A Walk in My Shoes
The author is Kareem Maxwell. He was born on May 21, 1982 and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He is the youngest of three brothers, raised by two Christian parents. He graduated from Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in June of 2000. After graduating from high school, he attended college in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

In December 2002 a tragedy occurred in his life. After experiencing such a tragedy, he has not allowed it to stop him from moving forward with his life. He has since graduated from Long Island University, as of May 2008. He hopes to continue using his story to inspire others. He has a bright outlook on his future.
